Alien In-line skating

Kindergarten students had a great week of in-line skating with our instructor Mr. Dan. They have been able to independently put on all the equipment and have played many games which required skating around the gymnasium with lots of starting and stopping.

Kindergarten students had a terrific first day of in-line skating. They learned the names of all the safety equipment and the order of putting it on and taking it off.

Bilal goes for his first skate as other students finish putting on their equipment .

Tina and friends are skating around the gym.

It's just the first day and Azaria is learning to maintain her balance and staying on her feet.

Please help us start by supporting our April 5th Bottle Drive at 10:00AM.

Can you drive for us? Can you come help us collect bottles? Do you have bottles we can collect?  Can you bring your bottles to Vista Heights School? Call Chad Hande at 403-291-5272 or email vistaparentcouncil@gmail.com with any questions or offers of assistance.  What can you do to help?

 Virtue  -   Honesty

We have a new virtue this month! Being honest is being open, trustworthy and truthful. When people are honest they can be relied on not to lie, cheat or steal. Honesty is telling the truth. It is admitting mistakes even when you know someone might be angry or disappointed. Being honest means that you don't pretend to be something you are not.  Honesty is important because it builds trust.

This week, we reread 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf' and discussed how the boy had not told the truth and soon no one believed him when he really needed help.

Throughout the day, we recognize students who show ways of being honest.

                                                                                                                     Alien In-line skating

Thank you to all those students who have returned the forms and money for inline skating. Skating begins next week and students who have not returned the signed form and money will not be able to participate.
Students are also welcome to bring their helmets and leave them at school until skating is complete
.

Wednesday 5 March 2014

If you haven't returned your in-line skating form, please return tomorrow. We have informed students that all equipment will be provided but they can bring in a skating or bike helmet from home. They are welcome to bring them in tomorrow or Friday and then they will be ready to start skating on Monday. Thank you
