Pajama Day’ For this special event children may wear or bring appropriate pajamas to slip over their clothes. For outside play, we still need to have students wear snow pants. As well, yon this day, you can bring a stuffed animal as  long as it is not too big.


'Pizza Lunch'   Free pizza lunch, drink and cookie for all students. A special thank you to the generous anonymous donor for Vista Heights School. Everyone stays at school for the lunch.   .....................  Don't forget to bring a snack.

'Movie'  the children have selected a movie to watch during the afternoon.

This week, we will be meeting each day to sing‘Seasonal Songs with all of the other Vista Height Students and staff. Today we enjoyed learning songs from the Grade 5/6 Outdoor School.

- Doors will open at 6:10pm for the evening performance 
- Students will gather in their classrooms and wait for their performance time
- The performance will take approximately 45 minutes (starting at 6:30.p.m.)
- All students can be picked up from their individual classrooms after the presentation is
   complete, approximately at 7.15 p.m.

Quest Theatre
We're very excited to share our story with you TOMORROW! We have been working very hard with our script about " Kindness" and spent time this morning perfecting our performance.

For the performance, students are asked to wear dark coloured clothing and if they have a bandana they can wear it on their head like a pirate's. 


Here is some information that you will need to know 
for the Friday Evening Performance

- Please bring your tickets as we will be collecting them at the door

Please check the yellow notice which was sent home earlier in the week. Families need to use this form to order tickets for the performance. 


The students perform on Friday afternoon and we encourage all students to return to school for their evening show at 6:30. (Students return to school after 6:10) 

For their performance on Friday, our students are asked to wear dark cloloured pants and top.

Quest Theatre 
The students will be performing a Pirate skit which focusses on the virtue of Kindness. If you wouldlike, you may send in a bandana or any parts of a pirate cosutme.

We will be staging two performances on Friday, December 13th at 1:30  &  6:30.

This week we will be working with artists from Quest Theatre. We will be creating a story about the virtue of kindness which we will be sharing with you on Friday, December 13th at 1:30  &  6:30. 

Today, your Kindergarten child or their older brother of sister, will be bringing home an important note about obtaining tickets for Friday's performance. 

Please complete and return this form as soon as possible.

We have reciting the verses from the book There Was an Old Lady. This is a traditional build-up chant that is familiar to many families.  Our young students have been enjoying the humour as they recited the predictable and repetitive verses from the text.

Parent - Teacher Conference

At this point, we have had may of our families sign up for the Parent - Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday. This is our opportunity to discuss 

1) Areas of growth 
2) Setting goals for areas od development
3) Results of the Early Years Evaluation
4) Kindergarten Program of Studies

Reminder: Pita Lunch Tomorrow



Our young students were very excited to see the University of Calgary solar car. They asked the Engineering students lots of questions. Salah found out that the car could go very fast at 130 kph. 



 CP Holiday Train

Don’t miss Grammy award winning singer Sarah McLachlan performing at the annual CP Holiday Train at Anderson Station on Saturday December 7, 2013. 

This free concert will also feature The Tenors and Matt Dusk.n support of the Calgary Food Bank and hosted by Peter Mansbridge, the event begins with the opening of the North Pole Station at 4:00 p.m. followed by the concert, which begins at 5:00 p.m.Explore the North Pole Station and its family-oriented activities including Santa, ice carving and hot chocolate before the show begins.

Attendees are encouraged to take Calgary Transit to this event as parking is limited. The event is free, however attendees are asked to make a donation or bring non-perishable food items for the Calgary Food Bank.
